This from Denali:
I can't actually believe that we have been parents for a whole month already. It has gone so quickly and been a bit of a blur at times too. My wound is healing well now and I feel a little more agile once again. I will have to start walking more now to lose the last bit of baby weight so I can fit into my clothes again - can't wait.
We took Sophie to church today and she was a little angel - slept the whole time. She didn't mind the loud drums one bit. We are slowly getting to know more people at church and everyone we have met seems lovely and welcoming, which has been fantastic.
We have our first antenatal class get together this coming Sunday. It will be nice to see everyone, most will have babies by now I imagine.
My Mom comes up to Wellington this Thursday to visit Sophie (and us) again before she has 6 weeks cruising the Scottish Isles and traipsing around art galleries and ancient buildings in France and Germany. When we drop her off at the airport on Saturday we pick up Richard's Mum, Dad and brother Kris from Mongolia. They have been really looking forward to seeing Sophie (and us too).
I have found it hard at times when Rich has been at work and Sophie has cried and I have not been able to work out why...only really had one day like this in 4 weeks so I guess I shouldn't complain. The next day she was lovely and happy all day and I could lie down when she slept. Sophie is growing really well and weighs 4.7kg and is 59cm long. When Richard's brother Mike was here, he bought me some "Complan" and I have noticed the difference in my energy levels - it's great and I recommend it to anyone!!!
Some people have asked us why we chose 'Sophie Lily Kate' as her name. We have always just really liked the name Sophie. We also really liked the name Lily, but Richard didn't like the sound of Lily Lord. Also, Lily is diminutive of Elizabeth, which is my Mum's name. We found out we were pregnant on the day my Grandma died. Kate is a diminutive of Kathleen, which is her middle name. Also, before I was pregnant I had a lovely dream that I had a little girl called Kate, but we didn't use it as her first name because it is my friend Anna's favourite name for a little girl.
Rich has been whipped into shape and as soon as he walks through the door from work he starts tidying up, finishing off dinner and cleaning nappies that I haven't got to etc...I am very lucky to have such a great husband!!!! he he he. No really, he has been awesome.
Rich is now exhausted...he is collapsed on the couch surrounded by the washing he has just finished folding and is enjoying watching a Talking Heads concert on DVD, which he says is directed by Jonathan Demme - whoever the heck he is (and he keeps asking for me to get him more M&M's). He doesn't even have the energy to drag himself to the computer (his other baby) to write this weeks "Blog".
On Friday Richard's cousin Katie Lord, from Chch, came to stay the night. She enjoyed meeting Sophie and making her smile. Kirk Pflaum (on Saturday) wasn't quite sure that babies were so lovely...(he did cuddle her for ages while she slept, but we think he wants to keep this a secret)!!!
Rich just mumbled something about promising to publish a TOP 10 List at some later stage this afternoon. He says that he has had to do a lot of research for this latest one.
Enjoy the photos!!!

love the blogs.
LMAO??
Hey Richard, check out Danny Wallace's books such as "Join Me" (he started a cult by accident) and "Yes Man" (he spent a year saying Yes to everything). It's your kind of humour. You'll love them. Trish (London)
OK, will do. Thanks for the heads up.
