1st Review out for 'Rope Burn'!

Floater (Grindhouse) – ROPE BURN

Capturing the look and sound of the grindhouse absolutely perfectly, this is the best film to play in Wellington so far this year. A very cool opening sequence leads us to discover Jerry Reed seeking out medical advice for the pain inside him, as he has a rope tightly tied around his leg which would cut off his circulation but when that is pointed out he kills people so that they will understand his pain. He has one almost epiphany when he encounters a couple of biker lesbians who kiss each other whilst still wearing their helmets, before finding a leading New Zealand doctor who knows of his medical killing ways and tries to get help. Taking the action to the rooftop, we learn that the doctor is pregnant and she fights off Jerry with a chainsaw, lopping his leg off graphically, for which she is thanked because it makes his pain go away. 5/5
