We have been taking day trips out of Wellington over the last three weeks. A couple of weeks ago, we went to Levin to pick up an antique dolls pram Denali wants to restore and then spent the rest of the day at Raumati Beach where we tried to get Sophie to enjoy the water. She didn't take to it though and ended up crying, so we went for a walk instead.
On Saturday we went to a great seafood tasting lunch at Kim and Ronnie's place.
Yesterday we went to the Wairarapa region about an hour north of Wellington. We had morning tea in Martinborough and lunch in Greytown. It's a beautiful region to explore and there are several quaint towns all within about 30km of eachother. Denali and I are going to book a weekend away there soon.
Sophie is having lots of fun with her new friends Harry and Sienga (the Cat). We are looking after Dan and Vanessa's cat until they shift into their new place in Broadmeadows (just round the corner from us!) We also have a garage full of their stuff too.
In other news, the guy who does our motion graphics at work is leaving... for real this time! He is changing his career path and now wants to jump out of aeroplanes for a living. He heads off to the South Island in April to begin a skydiving instructor course in Methven. He's gonna FREEEEEZE his ass off! I will post links to his videos on Youtube. We have had over 200 applicants from all over the world for his job.
