As some of you may know, I put on a few kilos during the video course I did last year. As Denali, so eloquently puts it... "You didn't have breasts when I married you!" So, to combat this newly found femine side I have taken to walking 1 hour everyday... not by choice of course - that's how long it takes me to walk to work and back from the train station each day. Consequently, my jeans no longer fit me and I may have to resort to wearing a belt. But that's OK; Mum and Dad brought a nice belt back from Mongolia. I walked up Mount Kaukau today, and as you can see in the panorama photo above the view was quite spectacular.
Well, at work this was the final week of Andrew (the editor who is leaving Propeller Productions). Our 10 days of training has ended and I have almost filled an entire 1B5 with notes about the job. I realise now just how important it is to know the technical side of what you are doing just as much as the creative side. I usually struggle with the technical side of jobs, but Andrew has been a good teacher and has brought me up to speed very quickly. Work will become very busy over the next couple of weeks as a whole spread of jobs come in at the same time. I am just so thankful for the coffee bar (Deluxe) below us to see us through such times.
I went and saw 'Syriana' and 'Hustle and Flow' at the movies over the last week. Both were crap and rather boring. So don't waste your money.
In terms of finding a house here in Wellington, Denali and I have decided that we would rather live further out than the inner city so we can get a bigger, nicer place for the baby (and us of course). So for those of you who kind of know Wellington, we are currently looking in suburbs like Johnsonville, Khandalla, Newlands, Brooklyn, Kilbirnie, Miramar, Hataitai and Newtown. I must have looked at about 15 places so far, but nothing appropriate has surfaced yet. Once we have a place I will get a scooter to ride into town each day so Denali can use the car. The only thing I will miss about taking the train is the train station. It's pretty cool.
