On Tuesday I went down to Christchurch with cameraman David Paul to film a short doco/case study for Telecom and Lucent Technology about their new technology bus, which is touring NZ as of Friday this week. We were in Christchurch filming the second and supposedly final day of assembly before the bus went to Wellington. We filmed from about 10am until about 7:30pm... and still the bus wasn't finished. Dave and I then wolfed down some dinner and went back to the hotel to plan Wednesday's shoot. We planned about 4 hours of filming in the morning as the technicians raced to finish the bus, then we planned to get some good shots of the bus on the open road against some scenic backdrops in Cheviot, Kaikoura, Half Moon Bay, and Seddon.
At about 9pm Tim and Kirk dropped off my new super-sweet long board at the Hotel. I will put pictures of it on the blog soon. I will now have to re-learn how to skate as I haven't done it in 10 years!
Wednesday morning came and went and we filmed everything we could, but the bus still wasn't finished. They left Chch at 2:30pm to catch a 7pm ferry out of Picton. Dave and I chased and filmed the bus all the way up the coast. It was pretty cool, but by the time we reached our prime Kaikoura spots the sun had fallen behind the ranges. There was enough light however to get some shots, but we were pushing it. We took our last shot in Seddon as the bus went over the old double bridge there. That bridge is being replaced very soon, so it was quite cool to get one of the last shots of it.
Dave and I had a 7pm flight out of Blenheim to catch so we said goodbye to the bus and its convoy at Seddon and sped on to the airport, to catch our plane 10mins before take off. I heard this morning that the bus caught the ferry 10mins before its departure too. Not bad going for a bus.
The rest of our shoot is up here in Wellington starting this afternoon, then tomorrow morning we shoot from 8am until about 10:30am as the bus opens up to the public. We were originally supposed to have all of Friday to film, but... well... things change.
It was great to get home and see Denali and Sophie on last night, as I was worried I would end up in Chch until Thursday. Sophie is gooing heaps now and gives us lots of big smiles and she squirms and makes bubble spluttering noises when we tickle her.
Denali and Sophie left for Christchurch at 8:30am this morning for a busy friends and family tour. Please look after them everyone. They HAVE TO return on Monday evening.
Denali has forgotten to take her cell phone down with her, but she can be reached at her parent's house on: 332-8790
Meanwhile... I am all alone. Not quite sure what that means for me yet...

p.s. There may not be a TOP 10 or a competition this week, but we will see.

Cool... can you please e-mail them to me and I will put them on the blog. lordbiggus@gmail.com That goes for other people too.
Also, look out for a new video you can download of Sophie. It should be up sometime tonight. It's nothing flash, just a short montage showing Sophie over the last 11 weeks.
