Sophie unsettled

Denali and I (but mostly Denali) have a had a rather stressful week because Sophie has been so scratchy and unsettled as she adjusts to increased hormone levels in Denali's milk. This causes her to cry more often and become agitated and squirmy. It's quite worrying when you don't know what is going on inside her, but our doctor and plunket nurse have reassured us that it is quite a normal thing. Tomorrow (Wednesday) Denali will take Sophie to the hospital to finally get her hips checked out. The plunket nurse seemed to think the problem may have corrected itself though.

Sophie is too big for her bath tub and we now enjoy bathing her in the 'adult' sized bath where she can kick and flail her arms excitedly without hindrance.

Today, Denali spent the day with Sandra Curd (from Christchurch), who is preparing for her wedding in early December. Sandra is Sophie's Fairy Godmother (my brother Mike is the Godfather), so naturally Sophie enjoyed extracting all necessary cuddles out of her.

Fairy Godmother with the wee Fairy Girl (Denali told me to write that)

Also, my Mum came back up from Christchurch for one last cuddle-the-baby visit before she heads back to Mongolia on Friday with Dad and Kris. She brought up with her a cot that has been in my family for several generations. We are getting it checked out to make sure it is safe for Sophie to sleep in and we may give it another coat of paint.

In other news, I finished my first commercial for 'Banks Shoes' on Monday. It goes on air tomorrow and can be seen on Channels 1, 2 and 3... in Wellington only as Banks Shoes are not in the South Island. Usually, I don't do commercials, but our graphics guy was inundated with other work. Actually, Hayden (our graphics guy) is leaving soon on his OE. Also, Nik (our Protools/Junior Editor) is leaving as well for his band's tour of the States and Canada (you can download one of his songs on this blog - see a couple of posts back). So we will have TWO positions to fill. Although, there is some talk of not filling Nik's position and just getting Marmalade Studios to do our audio mixes. Not sure yet though.

Also, near the end of this month I will hopefully go to Tauranga to direct a video for Zespri (global marketers of Zespri kiwifruit). Denali and Sophie will come too. Then, they head down to Christchurch on the 27th July for 5 days... during which time I will sleep... sleep long and well.

Sorry for putting that stupid 'comment approval' setting on. Didn't realise, but it is off now, so please continue to respond... with or without my approval.
